Back in December 2005 Steve and I were bitten by the genealogical bug. This was in part because of Aunt Joan's
fascinating efforts and partly because Steve's dad had asked us to help him with their family tree. So we went
off and bought Family Tree Maker and got a subscription to Ancestry.com and we haven’t looked back.
It took quite some time just to enter the data from Aunt Joan and the information we had for the other sides
of the family. But having gotten it all done we set out to see what we could discover. And goodness isn't there a lot!
This site started life as a sub-section of my personal website
Flicker's Lair,
but it was starting to overgrow so we got it its own domain name and space in June 2006.
When it first moved I had big plans for it, with ideas for new sections and pages, then it got rather
sadly neglected. But it quietly remained and I have people contact me from time to time. Now I am scheduling time
for it and for my genealogical research, so please visit often to see what the latest discoveries are.
So the ‘roots’ of the tree are Steve and I; WELCH & FUNNELL. Additionally, as it was requested and
because Grandma Dennis has so much information, we are also covering the DENNIS family. If you are 'attached' to the
tree and would like us to add details you have then please get in touch.
